MY STORY
~
I first fell in love with coaching when I observed the power of listening to one's inner voice. I was at a critical juncture in my life, both personally and professionally, and coaching helped me realize that if I could cut through all the background noise, the opinions of others, the need for external validation, I could make decisions and live my life in a way that was authentic, motivated by joy, and grounded in my values.

My path to coaching began all the way back in middle school when I happened to meet a monk from India visiting my hometown in New Jersey. He pointed out to me that our attitudes, perceptions, and internal states of mind are the most important factors to determining our happiness and effectiveness in the world. That one idea got me hooked on the idea that each of us has an internal capacity to heal and find fulfillment.

Since then, I have sought to learn about what drives positive behavior change from wherever I could - from Eastern and Western philosophy, to neuroscience and physics, to psychology and clinical medicine, to business and organizational behavior, to mindfulness and contemplative practices. This exploration has been an adventure and one that I don’t think will ever end.

My formal experiences and training in coaching began when earning my MD and MBA. I started to see fascinating synergies between how medicine and business approach human behavior change. In medicine, I studied clinical psychology, neuroscience, and evidence-based treatment. In business school, I studied organizational behavior, behavioral economics, and business coaching, which focused more on autonomy, action, strengths, and collaboration. I soon realized that the best approach is to draw on the best of both these fields, which is what I strive to do in my coaching.

It is a genuine privilege and honor to bear witness to every client's journey of growth. It helps me better understand my own journey and inspires me to forge ahead toward what I care about most.
